Israeli Elections Tuesday

From Women in Green:

Dear Friends,

As you know, this coming Tuesday there will be municipal elections in Israel.

Kol Hakavod to Suzy Dym from Mattot Arim who has done extensive research about many cities in Israel and has prepared a list of all the candidates who were in favor of the expulsion - disengagement. Now is the time to give them their deserved punishment and make sure they do not come to power. Not out of pleasure to punish them but rather for survival's sake. Any person who was in favor of the expulsion and G-d forbid will come to power as a mayor will be harmful to Israel, for those people will most probably also be in favor of the creation of a PLO State. As Suzy says in her Hebrew mail (the English is more abridged), the one and only issue that must interest us in the upcoming elections is the issue of the candidate's position about Eretz Yisrael. Is the candidate in favor of a PLO State or not? Was he in favor of the expulsion or not?

AS you know, the voting is a vote with two separate papers. One paper is a vote for the mayor. The other paper is a vote for the list to the council. When deciding which list to vote for in Jerusalem, we strongly suggest to give your vote to Arieh King who is on the Ichud Leumi-Mafdal list (letters TET BET). Arieh King is the quiet force behind all the settlement activity in Jerusalem and he represents the best the issue of Eretz Yisrael.

About whom to vote for as mayor in Jerusalem, I personally agree with Suzy that in Jerusalem the candidate that most probably will represent Eretz Yisrael the best is Meir Porush. But I must be honest and say that I know that opinions in Women in Green differ on this issue and thus this is my personal opinion and not the official position of Women in Green.

Please pass on this list to all friends and family members around the country.

With Love for Israel,
Nadia Matar

From Mattot Arim, Suzy Dym:

The local elections on Tuesday are extremely important. Please vote. For those who know that Eretz Yisrael is a crucial topic, here is what you need to know about pro-Eretz Yisrael candidates (usually such candidates are also better for the city -- experience shows that whoever is in favor of a Palestinian state also BEHAVES like a Palestinian state...).

Acco: Lankri was in favor of the disengagement. He is very bad for us. Do not vote for him. Some national religious people say they will vote for him. Tell them to first get from him a written letter that he opposes the creation of a PLO State. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Ashdod: Dr. Yehiel Lasri running with Yehuda Frankel are better for us than Zvi Zilker. Zvi Zilker was in favor of the gerush.

Ashkelon: Roni Mahatzri is very bad for us.He was in favor of the expulsion.
Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Bat Yam: Vote for Uri Buskila, probably running only for city council. He is outstanding. Tet-Bet is the name of the list.

Beer Sheva: Yaakov Terner of Kadima is a poor candidate for us. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Bet Shemesh: Shalom Lerner is an excellent mayoral candidate. Vote for him, help him. Make sure Daniel Vaknin who was in favor of the expulsion, does not get in.

Givat Shmuel: Zamir Ben-Ari is very bad for us. He was in favor of the gerush. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Haifa: Yona Yahav is very bad for us. Also Rami Levy is bad. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Herzlia: The current mayor is from meretz and was in favor of he gerush. Yaron Olami running for mayor and Zvi Weiss running for Moatza in the Tet-Bet list are both excellent. Please help them and vote for them.

Jerusalem: Porush has more solid Eretz Yisrael views that either Nir Barkat or Gaidamak. Safest therefore to vote for Porush*Nir Barkat was the head of the Kadima branch in Jerusalem. His positions re a Palestinian State are not known.* Gaidamaks views re Judea and Samaria are not known either.

*Porush voted against the disengagement . In the current Knesset he worked hard to make a coalition against "chok pinui-pitzui 2"

It seems that he candidate that will represent Erets Israel the best is Porush.

*Ygal Amedi was in favor of disengagement. Dont vote for him.

Kiryat Malachi: Vote AGAINST Moti Malka who is very bad for us.
Malka is a Kadima man, appears in the list of mayors who voted for the disengagement. Sadly it seems that Chabad is supporting him, Chabad -please reconsider! Listen to our brothers from GK who beg you all not to give Malka your vote. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Maaleh Adumim: Gidon Ariel running for city council is excellent for us.
Known activist for erets Israel. Vote for him, help him.

Naharia: Jackie Sabag is a poor candidate for us.
He is from Kadima. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Natzrat Ililt: Shimon Gapsu is great. Please help him and vote for him.

Netanya: Miriam Feirberg has a mixed record -- against Oslo, in favor of disenagement -- we call on her to clarify her position re Palestinian state (which will put Netanya into rocket range) - Miriam, are you for or against?

Ramat Gan: Zvi Bar is very anti Eretz-Yisrael. Was in favor of gerush.
Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Ramle: Yoel Lavi is from Kadima and is very anti Eretz-Yisrael. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Rishon leZion: Vote AGAINST Meir Nitzan who is a Kadima candidate. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Rehovot: Vote for Hananya Weinberger or Uzi Salant, good candidates, in order to defeat Shuki Forer who is very bad for Eretz Yisrael.

Tel-Mond: Shlomo Ratzabi, current mayor, is very bad for us.
Favored the disengagement. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Please not only vote as per the above but ask your friends to do the same. If you will talk to them you will find many who were not going to bother to vote.

The above suggestions are based on our 15 year experience re candidates and parties which have consistently adopted positions that are good for the public even when these positions are unpopular (like: refusing to jump on the disengagement bandwagon despite huge pressure from the government). We are not associated with any political party and do not get money or appointments from any parties and our recommendations are based ONLY on our observations as to which candidates and lists are pro-Eretz Yisrael in orientation. In Israel, like it or not -- municipal politics crucially affects national politics. Safety first - if mayors are elected who are pro-Palestinian, our chances for defeating Palestinian state are very slim. So, please vote as above and get your friends to vote.

General: Any local candidate (from any party) who goes public saying he is opposed to Palestinian state as it will endanger his own city -- vote for him.
